"Trash the dress" is a phrase that was coined by a photographer in 2006. In the "old days" we called it a "Day After" session, or simply bridal portraits. Day after sessions are a wonderful idea, especially for destination weddings, when you don't want to worry about your dress getting wet or dirty the day of, but the following day, at sunset, can be a lot of fun. Brides have been putting thier dresses in water an dirt for ages, but this term made it sound more controversial, so it caught on as a hot trend.
